Center City Condo Restoration

12 May

Gardner/Fox recently completed a magnificent Victorian townhouse restoration for Joan and Dane Wells of Spruce Street. Originally built by members of the Berwin family in the 1860s, the lower levels of the townhouse were converted into front and rear bi-level condominiums and are currently up for sale.

Collaboration between the homeowners and architect led to the designation of an open floor plan with upscale appliances and custom woodworking. The homeowner’s vision was to retain as much of the home’s original detail as possible, from the large windows and 14’ foot ceilings to the herringbone oak floors and Moorish fretwork.

In the rear unit, an open floor plan balances the scale and aesthetic of the intricately detailed and elaborate 1890’s mahogany coffered ceiling. Gardner/Fox Construction - Philadelphia Kitchen RemodelThe completely modernized kitchens feature high-end custom cabinetry with top of the line appliances. Additional amenities such as new laundry facilities, custom closets, and central air complement today’s lifestyle. Behind the scenes modernization includes new plumbing, mechanical, electrical and structural remediation.

These units are currently featured on the Prudential Fox and Roach website. MLS # 4965474 and 4964844
